Arsenal are up against Inter Milan in a crucial UEFA Champions League match at the San Siro Stadium in Milan today (Wednesday, November 6).
The Gunners are coming into the match on the back of a defeat in the Premier League, where they suffered a 1-0 loss against Newcastle United. Mikel Arteta's men sit 9th in the UCL points table but a win in Italy can take them to 4th in the table.

Arsenal's preparation for their upcoming clash against Inter Milan sees a blend of concerns and relief within their squad. The return of their captain, Martin Odegaard, from an injury layoff, offers a much-needed creative boost to the team's attacking capabilities. On the other hand, Declan Rice was deemed unfit and the England midfielder has stayed back in London.
Despite the challenges, Arsenal's defensive setup receives a boost with Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes making their comebacks from injury. White's return is particularly timely, expected to start at the San Siro, which enables Mikel Arteta to reposition Thomas Partey back to his natural midfield role in the absence of Rice.
However, the Gunners face further challenges as they will be without the services of defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney, and Riccardo Calafiori, all sidelined due to knee and hamstring injuries.
Amid this, a number of academy players are expected to be on the Arsenal bench for the Inter Milan clash. Mikel Arteta has provided opportunities to youngsters and numerous of them have played part already this season.
Arsenal's young sensation Ethan Nwaneri has been a regular player off the bench for them this season. The 17-year-old has shown his immense class even at a tender age, prompting Arteta to involve him in the squad regularly. Nwaneri has so far played 7 matches for the Gunners this season, scoring 3 goals, all of which came in the EFL Cup. If Arsenal are in need to disrupt the Inter defence in the second half, Nwaneri may well be summoned for his UCL debut.
Nwaneri scored a stunning goal in the EFL Round 4 match against Preston North End last week, and the England youth international would love to make an impact in the Champions League if an opportunity arrives.
Jurrien Timber is the likely personnel to play as a left-back for Arsenal against Inter Milan. But Myles Lewis-Skelly can step up in the role at the latter stages or if any unforeseen injury takes place. The youngster has shown decent quality so far and has already played 19 minutes in the Champions League this season.
Tommy Setford will be on the bench for Arsenal in the Inter Milan match. The English goalkeeper joined the club this summer and has already made his debut in the EFL club. However, Setford's chances for coming on are very low unless an injury to Raya, but the youngster will be in the squad at San Siro.
