Inter Seeks Strong Performance Against In-Form Fiorentina In Serie A Clash

Inter Milan's manager, Simone Inzaghi, emphasises the need for a strong performance against Fiorentina in their upcoming Serie A match on Sunday. Both teams are returning from successful European campaigns, with Inter second in the Champions League and Fiorentina sixth in the Europa Conference League. They are tied on 28 points in Serie A, with Inter ahead on goals scored, just one point behind leaders Napoli.

Inzaghi stresses that only a top display will give Inter an edge as they head to Stadio Artemio Franchi. "We know that both we and Fiorentina have been playing in Europe. They have a good coach and skilled players; Inter will have to put on a big performance," he told Inter TV. The challenge is heightened by Fiorentina's impressive form, having won their last seven Serie A matches.

Fiorentina aims for an eighth consecutive league win, a feat not achieved since 1960. Inzaghi acknowledges the difficulty of the task ahead: "It will be a very tough match and a lot will depend on our approach; we know that they come off the back of seven consecutive wins and so, without a doubt, we're up against a tough side."

History favours Inter as Fiorentina has managed only one victory in their last 14 Serie A encounters since the 2017-18 season (D5 L8). Additionally, Fiorentina has failed to score in their previous two league games against Inter. Meanwhile, Inter boasts an impressive record with ten wins and two draws, supported by solid defensive performances.

When asked about the secret to their success, Inzaghi highlighted continuous improvement as key. "We're working both at the front and the back; all of Inter are working well as a side. For us, the aim is always to keep improving together," he stated. He also mentioned focusing on each game individually to prepare thoroughly for every fixture.
