Inzaghi Addresses Fatigue Concerns As Inter Milan Competes On Three Fronts

Simone Inzaghi highlights the growing fatigue within Inter Milan as they navigate a demanding schedule across Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Champions League. With mental and physical challenges ahead, he emphasises the team's commitment to continue their journey.

Inter Milan's recent 3-1 victory over Cagliari in Serie A has highlighted the toll of a demanding season, according to coach Simone Inzaghi. This win places Inter six points ahead of Napoli, who are set to play Empoli next. Despite their success, Inzaghi acknowledges the challenges posed by their packed schedule, including ongoing commitments in the Coppa Italia and Champions League.

Marko Arnautovic initiated the scoring for Inter, followed by Lautaro Martinez doubling their lead. Martinez's performance is notable as he has contributed to at least 15 goals in each of the last six Serie A seasons. Although Roberto Piccoli scored for Cagliari, Yann Bisseck secured the win for Inter.

Inzaghi Discusses Inter's Fatigue Challenges

Inzaghi expressed concerns about fatigue affecting his team. "We really cared about this match and knew it would not be easy," he stated. He emphasised that both physical and mental exhaustion are significant issues as they continue their journey through various competitions.

The Nerazzurri are preparing to host Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final return leg with a 2-1 lead from the first match. Inzaghi is confident but acknowledges Bayern's strength, describing them as one of the top teams globally.

Inter also faces AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg on April 23, with the tie currently at 1-1. Inzaghi stressed the importance of maintaining focus and organisation against such formidable opponents.

The coach reflected on last season's total of 49 games, noting that they have already played 48 matches this year by April 12. He praised his team's dedication and sacrifice, stating that everyone is contributing to help manage this intense period.

Inzaghi remains optimistic about his squad's ability to handle these challenges. "We must continue on this path knowing that we still have six league matches ahead and commitments in other competitions," he said. The team is ready to make sacrifices on the field to achieve their goals.
