Inter and AC Milan have received fines following an inquiry into their connections with certain fan groups. The Italian soccer association (FIGC) confirmed that Inter's Simone Inzaghi and Hakan Calhanoglu are suspended for one match. This investigation began in November after several ultras were arrested, focusing on the clubs' ties with unauthorised supporters.
The FIGC stated that penalties were due to associations with groups like Inter's Curva Nord and Milan's Curva Sud. Consequently, Serie A leaders Inter will miss Calhanoglu and Inzaghi in their upcoming match against Hellas Verona this Saturday. Calhanoglu faces a 30,000 fine alongside his suspension, while Inzaghi must pay 15,000.

In addition to individual penalties, Inter has been fined 70,000, whereas Milan must pay a 30,000 penalty. Furthermore, Inter vice-President Javier Zanetti is required to pay a 14,500 fine. These measures reflect the FIGC's stance on maintaining proper conduct between clubs and fans.
The absence of key figures like Calhanoglu and Inzaghi could affect Inter's performance against Hellas Verona. The club must adjust its strategy without these crucial members. Meanwhile, the financial penalties serve as a reminder of the importance of adhering to regulations regarding fan interactions.
This situation underscores the ongoing challenges football clubs face in managing relationships with passionate fan bases. The FIGC's actions highlight the need for clubs to maintain clear boundaries with supporters to avoid similar issues in the future.
