Filippo Inzaghi Leaves Pisa To Join Palermo In Serie B Management Role

Filippo Inzaghi has transitioned from managing Pisa to a new role at Palermo. After leading Pisa to Serie A promotion, he signed a multi-year deal with Palermo following a release clause payment.

Filippo Inzaghi has quickly transitioned to a new role at Palermo, just days after parting ways with Pisa. Known for his time at AC Milan and Juventus, and as the sibling of Simone Inzaghi, who coaches Al-Hilal, Filippo led Pisa to Serie A promotion in the 2024-25 season. Despite this success, he resigned last Friday after less than a year in charge.

Palermo has secured Inzaghi's services by reportedly paying a €1 million release clause. The 51-year-old has committed to a multi-year contract with the club. Palermo narrowly missed the Serie B play-offs last season, finishing eighth, one point shy of qualification and six spots behind Pisa.

Inzaghi Moves from Pisa to Palermo

Inzaghi's coaching career spans nine clubs, with Palermo being his latest venture. During his tenure at Pisa, he achieved a 59% win rate by securing victories in 23 out of 39 matches. Over his entire coaching career, he has managed 355 games and claimed victory in 149 of them.

If wins were valued at three points each, Inzaghi would average 1.5 points per game throughout his coaching journey. His move to Palermo marks another chapter in his extensive managerial career.

Inzaghi's decision to leave Pisa before their first Serie A season in over three decades surprised many. His departure came swiftly after achieving promotion success with the team. Now at Palermo, he aims to bring similar achievements to his new club.

As Inzaghi embarks on this new challenge with Palermo, expectations are high for him to replicate his past successes and guide the team towards greater accomplishments in Serie B and beyond.
