Inter Milan managed to secure a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in a thrilling derby on Sunday. Despite the late equaliser by Stefan de Vrij in the 93rd minute, Inter's coach, Simeone Inzaghi, expressed some disappointment with the team's performance. Throughout the match, Inter was relentless in their efforts to score.
Federico Dimarco and Lautaro Martinez both had goals disallowed for offside in the first half. Martinez also saw another goal ruled out due to a foul by Denzel Dumfries on Theo Hernandez during the build-up. Additionally, Yann Bisseck, Marcus Thuram, and Dumfries all hit the woodwork before De Vrij finally scored.

Inzaghi's team has experienced hitting the woodwork at least three times in a Serie A match against Milan twice in recent years, with the previous occurrence in September 2019. Had Inter won this match, they would have temporarily topped the table after Napoli's 1-1 draw with Roma later that day.
"The guys were magnificent," Inzaghi told Sky Sports. "Unfortunately, they couldn't go beyond the various episodes. Three posts, three goals disallowed, and a sensational penalty not given. They were magnificent and we managed to level in the 93rd minute."
Inzaghi made all five substitutions with 14 minutes remaining. One of these substitutes was Nicola Zalewski, who had just joined on loan from Roma on Saturday. Zalewski quickly made an impact by assisting De Vrij's equaliser with a chest pass.
"He came on well; he has quality and we were missing someone like that," Inzaghi said about Zalewski. "I'm happy; [Sunday] morning he was immediately ready and will give us a hand."
Zalewski reflected on his rapid transition to playing for Inter: "It's definitely been a rollercoaster; [on Saturday] we did everything in a hurry," he said. "We tried to make it in time to be available today; it was a lucky game from some points of view but we did well to draw it."
Despite not securing victory, Inter showed resilience by equalising late in the game. The team remains determined to win future matches as they continue their Serie A campaign.
