Ipswich Town Secures Jack Clarke From Sunderland In Strategic Move

Jack Clarke has officially joined Ipswich Town from Sunderland, signing a five-year contract. The winger's transfer to the Premier League newcomers is reportedly valued at up to £20 million.

Clarke initially moved to Sunderland on loan from Tottenham in 2022, later making the switch permanent within the same year. During his time with the Black Cats, he played 114 matches across all competitions, scoring 28 goals and providing 23 assists.

Last season, Clarke emerged as Sunderland's top scorer in the Championship, netting 15 goals. Additionally, he created 91 chances, the highest among his teammates.

"I'm really excited to have joined the club and can't wait to get going," Clarke said. "Ipswich have been on a really good trajectory over the last few years and the recruitment this summer has been very impressive, so this was always something I was going to be interested in."

Clarke expressed his eagerness to contribute to Ipswich Town. "I try to be an exciting player and contribute goals and assists, so I think the style of football here will suit me," he added. "I just feel excited to meet the lads and get started now."

The winger becomes Ipswich's 10th signing of the transfer window. He might make his debut in their EFL Cup match against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Clarke's arrival is expected to bolster Ipswich Town's attacking options as they prepare for their Premier League campaign.
