Bengaluru, September 6: Manchester United number one David De Gea has tipped his Spain teammate Isco to become “one of the greatest” following his impressive international display.

The Spanish playmaker was at first regarded as a backup option for Real boss Zidane but slowly at the later half of last season, the midfielder showed his mettle and slowly broke into the starting XI ahead of players like Bale, Vazquez and Asensio.

His terrific form has also continued this year also as the midfielder has already made impressive performances in La Liga, while, in the recent international break the former Malaga player alone caught the eye when he out-shone the strong Italy team to win the match 3-0, scoring twice.

Italy star midfielder Veratti also lauded the midfielder's performance as phenomenal and also compared him with Messi. His streak again continued last night when he again registered one goal against Liechtenstein in their 8-0 win.

And now in a recent interview, his international team mate De Gea has suggested he is not surprised by the form shown by Isco for the national team as he knows what kind of quality he possesses.

"Personally I have known Isco for a long time so it’s no surprise to me what he’s doing," the Manchester United goalkeeper told reporters.

"I have seen him doing incredible things for so long now, people shouldn’t be surprised either.

De Gea, who has for some time been tipped to be at Real Madrid earlier with Isco also suggested that the Real Madrid midfielder is now among the best in the game, however, can proceed more with his ability in world football.

“He’s at the top level now and that’s great for the team,” De Gea added.

“We hope he keeps improving.

“Bearing in mind his personality, he’ll become one of the greatest.”

Spain are three points clear of the Azzurri in Group G with two matches remaining and almost on the verge of qualifying for next year's world cup.
