
Bengaluru, February 20: The Hero Indian Super League on Monday (February 20) announced PJN Stadium, Fatorda, Goa as the venue for the ISL 2022-23 final.
Goa has been chosen for the marquee match due to the available training grounds and infrastructure for the teams. The final of ISL season 9 will be held on March 18 following the conclusion of the playoffs, which includes the one-legged eliminators and two-legged semifinals.
This season of the Hero ISL was an exciting one with the fight for the playoffs being closely contested amongst multiple teams.
Mumbai City FC, who lifted the League Shield on Sunday (February 19), Hyderabad FC, ATK Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC, Kerala Blasters FC and Odisha FC have qualified for the playoffs.
Mumbai City FC, the leaders and Hyderabad FC will directly enter the semifinals, while Bengaluru FC will face Kerala Blasters in the first eliminator with ATK Mohun Bagan, facing Odisha FC in the second eliminator to book their last 4 berth.
The teams from fourth to sixth will play in eliminators to decide their progress in the tournament. The teams or the fixture for the eliminators that will be played on March 3 and March 4 will be finalized on the final matchday of the league stage.
In the last four stage, ISL league shield winners Mumbai City will face the winner of the first eliminator between Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters, while holders Hyderabad FC will face the winner of the second eliminator between ATK Mohun Bagan and Odisha FC.
