The contest was a lopsided one-sided affair in which the ISL team destroyed their opponents 10-1. The 23-year-old attacker PV Vishnu stole the show and scored four goals to win Player of the Match. Mahitosh Roy scored three goals, and VP Suhair found the back of the net twice, among others.

Hyderabad FC's first ISL match was scheduled to take place against FC Goa. Due to the unavailability of Sandesh Jhingan and Chinglensana Singh, they couldn't play, hence the game was called off. Hyderabad will want to start the ISL season 2023-24 off well by defeating East Bengal.
