ISL 2023-24 Mohun Bagan Super Giant vs Punjab FC: Key Players to Watch

The Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-2024 season's third match will be played between the reigning champions, ISL Trophy winners Mohun Bagan Super Giant, and newly promoted club Punjab FC, who rose from the second division to the top tier on September 23.

Juan Ferrando has been retained as the head coach of the team with number of star signings, Australian striker Jason Cummings, Albanian Armando Sadiku, Indian midfield duo Anirudh Thapa and Sahal Abdul Samad. While Anwar Ali bolster the defence with Hector Yuste.

For Punjab FC, they are high on morale after winning the promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL) after winning the Hero I-League last season. Punjab FC's addition to the Indian Super League brings a new addition to the Indian Super League, strengthening the Northern region.

Dimitri Petratos (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)

Australian forward Dimitri Petratos was the joint highest goal scorer in the Indian Super League (ISL) last season with Diego Mauricio with 12 goals, however, it was the latter who won the Golden Boot having less matches than Petratos. He has once again started the season high, scoring the winning goal in the Durand Cup final, while he scored a braced in the AFC Cup match against Odisha FC.

Luka Majcen (Punjab FC)

He is 34-years-old, but former Slovenia U21 international striker Luka Majcen was the one of the best player for the Punjab FC last season, which is why the club has shown faith in him to guide the club in their debut Indian Super League (ISL) season. And with the likes of Juan Mera and Wilmar Jordan Gil beside him, he could be even more dangerous for the Punjabi side.
