Mumbai City FC has commenced its endeavour to retain their league championship by unveiling a 27-player roster for the 2023-24 Indian Super League season.
Des Buckingham's Mumbai City team turned heads last season by rewriting 17 ISL record books on their path to securing the historic League Winners' Shield in just 18 matches, remaining undefeated for two rounds.

The team is entering the forthcoming ISL season with an ambitious goal to become the first club to accomplish the feat of defending the League Winners Shield consecutively.
Returning players include Lallianzuala Chhangte, last season's ISL Player of the Season and AIFF Men's Player of the Year. Chhangte will be looking to replicate his dizzying skills alongside fellow star players Jorge Pereyra Díaz, Bipin Singh, and Vikram Partap Singh in the offensive side. Greg Stewart, who has been part of the Shield-winning team for two successive seasons, is gunning for a third consecutive title.
Des Buckingham's core Mumbai City players, namely Phurba Lachenpa, Rahul Bheke, Rostyn Griffiths, Mehtab Singh, and Apuia, will have reinforcements from a group combining budding talent and veteran experience encompassing Mohammad Nawaz, Sanjeev Stalin, Halen Nongtdu, Vinit Rai, Valpuia, Gurkirat Singh, Ayush Chhikara, and others.
The summer brought eight fresh faces to the Islanders - Akash Mishra, Tiri, Yoëll van Nieff, Abdenasser El Khayati, Jayesh Rane, Seilenthang Lotjem, Franklin Nazareth, and Nathan Rodrigues. These new entrants will make their ISL campaign debut with Mumbai City FC.
