The Indian Super League is set to resume again after the last international break of the season. The ISL 2023-24 is nearing its end and so is the race for qualifying for the play-offs and winning the shield.
Only 3-4 matches are left to be played for all the teams. The top five spots are almost finalised at this point. Mumbai City FC, Mohun Bagan, FC Goa, and Odisha FC are occupying the top four spots of the league table.

Kerala Blasters are sitting in 5th place six points behind 4th-placed Odisha FC. Still, considering 6th-placed Punjab FC are eight points behind Kerala having played one game more than them, Kerala’s place in the play-offs is almost secured.
Going a little lower on the league table, only three points separate Punjab FC in 6th place to Chennaiyin FC in 11th place. Hyderabad FC in 12th place have only earned eight points from 19 games so far. Hence, they have no way of qualifying for the playoffs.

Hence, six clubs - Punjab FC, Bengaluru FC, Jamshedpur FC, NorthEast United, East Bengal, and Chennaiyin FC - are fighting to seal their place in that last spot for the playoffs. Hence, all of their next matches, especially the ones against each other will be important.
However, the most exciting match of the season should be the very last match set to be held on April 15 between Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC. They are the two teams currently sitting at the top of the league table.
Both teams are in tremendous form and should win all of their remaining matches. Mohun Bagan's next three matches before the last one is against bottom-table teams. However, Mumbai City still have a tough match left to be played against Odisha FC before that. Nonetheless, the last match should still be the most exciting of the season.
