A late goal from Armando Sadiku broke Mohammedan SC hearts as FC Goa salvaged a point in Kolkata on Saturday (September 21).
In a match filled with suspense and last-minute drama, FC Goa managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Mohammedan SC during their recent encounter in the Indian Super League (ISL).

Despite being better by lightyears compared to Goa, the Kolkata club was denied all three points, something which is a huge disappointment for them.
Mohammedan completely dominated the first half. France, Makan Chothe, Alexis Gomez were dismantling the Goa defence regularly, but Laxmikanth Kattimani denied them with a few superb saves. But just after the hour mark, Franca was brought down in the box by Odei Onaindia, which earner the hosts a penalty. Alexis Gomez made no mistake to slot the ball from the spot to score Mohammedan's first ISL goal.
There were plenty of chances for the Kolkata club to double their lead but they failed to do so. The match's pivotal moment arrived in stoppage time, when Aakash Sangwan, a substitute for FC Goa, swung a precise cross into the penalty area. Armando Sadiku, amidst a crowd of defenders, leaped to head the ball powerfully into the net, securing a dramatic point for the visitors.
FC Goa's goalkeeper, Kattimani, emerged as a crucial figure, making six essential saves that kept his team in contention throughout the match. While Mohammedan SC might rue the missed opportunity to claim their first ISL victory, FC Goa will be hugely concerned with their performance so far this season.
Mohammedan SC 1 (Alexis Gomez, 66')
FC Goa 1 (Armando Sadiku, 90+4')
Looking ahead, FC Goa faces another challenging match away from home against East Bengal FC next Friday (September 27). Mohammedan, on the other hand, will travel to Chennai for a date against Chennaiyin FC on Thursday (September 26).
