In the fourth round of ISL 2024-25, Mohun Bagan Super Giant will be challenged by
Mohammedan SC at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday (October 5).

After three matches in ISL, Mohammedan and Mohun Bagan are on the same page with four points. They each have won one match, drew one and lost one. Yet, due to a better goal difference, Mohammedan is positioned higher on the table.

The defending champions are already six points behind the current table-topper, Bengaluru FC. Till now, Jose Molina’s team is not up to the mark in both midfield and defence. They already conceded seven goals in three matches, which is the highest among the other teams.

On the other hand, this year’s debutant team, Mohammedan SC, has grabbed their maiden victory by defeating Chennaiyin FC 1-0 in the last match. Though the game against the Green and Maroon Brigade will be a difficult task, a win against the champions will surely make them confident enough to continue their fairy-tale run in this tournament. Also, they had to hold their nerve till the last minutes, as they conceded both of their goals in ISL in the dying minutes of the match.

The midfield of the Mariners is generally centred around the 31-year-old Australian Dimitri Petratos, who has been brilliant in the last season with 17 goal contributions. He will be assisted by Greg Stewart. The Scottish midfielder is dangerous with his ability to create chances and already has an average of creating almost three chances per game.

Meanwhile, the Black Panthers will be dependent on their two in-form forwards, Alexis Gomez and Lalremsanga Fanai, who both have scored one goal each and have one assist each. His ability to quickly dribble in the opponent's box and win ground duels gave him a good start in the ISL. There is no news of injury in Andrey Chernyshov’s squad.
