ISL 2026-27: Jorge Ortiz Mendoza signs for FC Goa in a One-Year Deal

FC Goa have completed the return of Spanish attacker Jorge Ortiz Mendoza, with the forward signing a one-year contract with the Gaurs for the 2026-27 season.

Ortiz is set to begin another chapter with the Goa-based club after previously establishing himself as an important figure in FC Goa's attacking unit. During his earlier spell, the Spaniard scored 16 goals, underlining his impact in the final third.

The 32-year-old's return adds further attacking depth and experience to FC Goa's squad ahead of the new campaign. Known for his creativity, technical quality and direct approach, Ortiz can operate across the attacking third and offers the ability to create chances as well as take on defenders.

FC Goa's Director of Football Lokesh Bherwani welcomed the move, highlighting Ortiz's familiarity with the club's style and environment.

"We are delighted to bring Jorge back to FC Goa. He already understands the Club, our way of playing, and what it means to be a Gaur. His quality, creativity, and experience will be valuable for us," Bherwani said.

Head coach Gouramangi Singh also backed the Spaniard to make an impact, pointing to his creativity and ability to influence matches in the final third.
