AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey is ecstatic to see the three Kolkata giants together in the ISL next season.
East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are already the two big clubs that have found themselves on the ISL map. Mohun Bagan has already won the ISL and is in the reckoning of winning the ISL shield this season, whereas East Bengal had their best campaign in the Super League this term.

After winning the I-League, Mohammedan SC has also earned promotion and will be competing in the ISL next season. On Saturday, the Falcons played their final I-League match and AIFF chief Kalyan Chaubey was present in Kolkata to hand over the trophy.
And while speaking with the media, the AIFF supremo was ecstatic to relish the prospect of the three giants playing in the ISL together.
"There was a time when the Teen Pradhan (Major Three) of Bengal football used to dominate Indian football. We used to see the Bengal teams winning trophies across the country all season and they used to count which team has won the most trophies," Chaubey said.
"Mohammedan never won the I-League, but after 28 years they finally broke the shackles, which is a massive moment. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan gradually joined the ISL, and as Mohammedan joins the ISL now, I believe the Teen Pradhan of Bengal Football will start to dominate Indian football again," the AIFF chief added.
"There was a time when the football in Bengal was in a downward spiral, but I believe these three Kolkata giants will rule Indian football in coming years. I am sure as Mohammedan joins ISL, the fans will come in numbers and it only enhances ISL's value," Chaubey concluded.
Mohammedan SC will make a total of 13 clubs in the ISL next season. The Indian Super League hasn't yet seen any relegation so far, and it remains unknown whether there will be any relegation or not. When asked if there will be relegation, Chaubey didn't comment on that.
A source told MyKhel that there have been talks with stakeholders about relegation, but nothing has been confirmed so far.
