Kochi, November 30: Indian Super League giants Kerala Blasters are set to welcome their newest signing, Ugandan midfielder Kizito Keziron, who has arrived to Kochi to join the team for the ongoing ISL 2017 season.
The runners up of the last season were in pursuit of the player for quite some time now and finally look close to wrapping up his signature.
Now, with the signing of Kizito imminent, Kerala’s squad will become much stronger.
An image of the Ugandan attacking midfielder in the Kerala Blasters training kit, along with Blasters defender Wes Brown was leaked on the internet earlier and sparked controversy as he was contracted to another club but the formalities are set to be over soon.
The Uganda-born player was still under contract with Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards back when the image was doing the rounds.
Kizito is an attacking midfielder, who can play in any of the three positions behind the striker – left or right wing, or in the no. 10 role, behind the striker.
Kerala Blasters FC have a solid midfield comprising of players like Arata Izumi, Jackichand Singh and Milan Singh Ongnam, and the addition of Kizito would further boost their squad. On top of that , his versatility would give the manager plenty of options.
During this long season, every side will need depth as well as quality in order to do well and with the addition of Kizito, the Yellow brigade will boast arguably the best squad depth among all the teams.
Despite boasting an attack of star-studded forwards like Berbatov, Hume and Vineeth, Kerala have failed to score a goal so far this campaign and Kizito would surely spark plenty of creativity to solve their goal-scoring issue.
