FC Goa has signed Indian defender Aakash Sangwan for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season.
The club announced the transfer on Sunday (June 9) and the defender is the newest member of the Gaurs setup for the upcoming season.

The 28-year-old left-back from Haryana his football career with Minerva Punjab. He made his senior debut with the club in 2017 and helped them win the I-League title in the 2017-18 season. After that, he played for Churchill Brothers and RoundGlass Punjab before joining Chennaiyin FC in 2022.
Sangwan has played 114 professional games and scored three goals, two of which came while playing for Chennaiyin FC last season. Upon signing for FC Goa, Sangwan expressed his excitement.
"I am excited to start this new chapter with FC Goa. The club's ambitions and style of play resonate with me, and I am eager to contribute to the team's success," Sangwan said to FC Goa.
"I've always admired the footballing culture and the history of the sport in this state, and can't wait to play in front of FC Goa's passionate fan base at the Fatorda Stadium. I look forward to giving my best and achieving great things together with the team," the defender added.
Sangwan has signed a multi-year deal at the club and is expected to stay in Goa till the 2026-27 season.
FC Goa's Director of Football, Lokesh Bherwani, praised Sangwan's attributes. He admitted that the club had been tracking his progress for some time. The 28-year-old left-back has been making progress and will now have the opportunity to shine on the West Coast.
