East Bengal has signed French midfielder Madih Talal from Punjab FC in a two-year contract, the club announced on Thursday (June 27).
Madih Talal had a fantastic season with Punjab, where he finished as the highest assist provider in the last ISL season.

Talal played in all 22 ISL matches and 3 Kalinga Super Cup games for Punjab FC last season. The 26-year-old Frenchman, one of the youngest foreign players in the ISL, contributed to five of Punjab's six victories last season with either a goal or an assist.
Talal only scored six goals but also set a record for the most (10) in the 2023-24 ISL season. Additionally, he provided two assists in the Kalinga Super Cup. His exceptional ball control and agility were evident as he completed the most dribbles (42) in the ISL 2023-24 season. Furthermore, Talal created the second-highest number of chances (57) during last season's ISL.
Before his move to India, Talal played for various clubs across Europe, with the most notable club being France's Amiens SC.
After joining the Kolkata giants, the Frenchman was hugely ecstatic and felt 'honored' to join the club.
"East Bengal's contribution to Indian football is immense and I am honored to commit my future to this legendary club. I am very excited to meet my new teammates and the incredible fans who make this club special," Talal said after joining the club.
East Bengal coach Carles Cuadrat also equally happy to rope him in at the club for the upcoming season.
"Talal has been one of the top foreigners to make an impact in their debut ISL season. His talent greatly enhanced his team's attack, due to which he not only recorded the maximum assists in the league but also scored a good number of goals. After a few conversations, Talal prioritized East Bengal over other ISL clubs, knowing how important he is going to be for our new project," he said.
