Mohun Bagan are gearing up to bolster their squad ahead of the coming season and this time, former Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City striker Greg Stewart has piqued their interest. However, there seems to be a clause and it involves one of the fan favourites of the Mariners - Armando Sadiku.

Sources from the club said, they are considering three players and Stewart is their top choice amongst them. However, they can only bring in the striker if Sadiku leaves the club during this transfer window. Considering the lineup they're readying for the next season, that could just happen.

With Dimitri Petratos and Jason Cummings still top choices at the club along with some more big names to be revealed later as foreign players, Sadiku might not get his favourable amount of playing time. Especially with Jamie McLaren joining the Mariners, Sadiku believes that he has fallen down the ranks in the pecking order.

Sadiku still wants to join a club where he can get plenty of game time. He still has a year left on his Contract. Mohun Bagan will be looking to sell him rather than send him on loan. Once he leaves, a slot will potentially open up for Stewart to join them.

Greg Stewart first arrived in the country back in 2021 when he joined Jamshedpur FC. From there, he moved to Mumbai City FC in 2022. He moved to the Scottish first-tier club Kilmarnock FC at the turn of this year. The striker was effective for both Jamshedpur and Mumbai City FC recording impressive numbers of goals and assists during his time.

During his time at Jamshedpur FC, he appeared in 21 matches and in those many matches, he scored 10 goals and assisted 10 times. At Mumbai City FC, he scored a total of 17 goals and provided 18 times in 45 matches. Hence, it's understandable that he will be an extremely fruitful addition to the Mariners.

Even so, the Scottish striker is currently 34-years-old. Additionally, Mohun Bagan have a set team that can cause trouble even as they are. Hence, even if Stewart comes, he also might not get as much playing time. Considering how everything goes with Armando Sadiku, the probable signing of Greg Stewart may be completed before the start of the season.
