Italy has just managed to start off with a victory. A 2-1 scoreline has done the job for the defending champions who see off the Albania threat to get all three points. Although it is a defeat, Albania will be very proud of their performance. The Azzurris are set to meet Spain next in the group stages.
Nicolo Barella is the final Italy substitute and Michael Folorunsho comes on.

90'Asllani sends Manaj forward but his shot his just saved by Donnarumma. The Italian keeper came out of his line very quickly to deny Albania.
89'Davide Frattesi tries to scoop one out towards an attacker but Mitaj intercepts to stop the Italian attack.
86'Hoxha turns superbly and makes a superb run. Italy double up on the Albanian substitute and thwarts him.
Spalletti makes another two changes for Italy. Mateo Retegui comes on for Scamacca, whereas Federico Di Marco is off and Matteo Darmian comes on.

The half time whistle blows and Italy lead Albania 2-1. The Albanians took the lead only after 22 seconds as Nedim Bajrami scored the fastest goal of the Euros. Alessandro Bastoni scored the equalizer while Nicolo Barella has given Azzurris the lead.
45+2'Federico Chiesa curls in a cross and Lorenzo Pellegrini shoulders it wide. The move is a brilliant one again from the Azzurris.
43' A silly foul from Bastoni on Seferi and Albania win a free kick. Yasser Asani gets the ball from the free kick and tries to curl one with his left foot but the shot is wide.
Gianluca Scamacca gets an opportunity and hits his shot. Strakosha narrows the angle down and then makes a good save to deny Italy.
39'Jorginho and Scamacca combine as Italy come forward again. Franco Di Marco whips in a cross but the ball is cleared.
38'Italy is dominating possession. They are trying to build another attack but Albania has managed to thwart them so far.
