Ivan Juric Takes Over As Atalanta Head Coach Following Gasperini's Departure

Atalanta has announced Ivan Juric as their new head coach, succeeding Gian Piero Gasperini. Gasperini concluded his nine-year tenure in Bergamo on May 31 and was named Roma's head coach last Friday. Shortly after, Atalanta confirmed Juric's appointment on a two-year deal lasting until June 2027. The Croatian was dismissed by Southampton in April, a day after their relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Juric's brief stint at Southampton saw him replace Russell Martin in December. He managed the team for only 108 days, securing just two wins out of 16 Premier League matches (D1 L13). Under his leadership, the Saints averaged a mere 0.4 points per game. His return to Italy marks a new chapter after spending his entire career there before moving to Southampton.

Before joining Southampton, Juric had extensive experience in Serie A, having overseen 249 matches in Italy's top league. His most recent role was with Roma, where he spent just under three months and managed to win four games. Prior to that, he had a three-year spell at Torino.
