Ivan Juric Dismissed As Atalanta Coach Following Disappointing Serie A Start

Atalanta has relieved Ivan Juric of his coaching duties after a poor start to the Serie A season, with only four wins in 15 matches. The club is now considering Raffaele Palladino as his replacement.

Ivan Juric has been dismissed from his role as Atalanta's head coach following a disappointing start to the Serie A season. Juric, who took over from Gian Piero Gasperini in June, managed only 15 matches across all competitions. Out of these, he secured just four victories and drew eight times. Notably, five of these draws occurred consecutively in the Italian top-flight, a feat last seen in 2011 under Stefano Colantuono.

This string of draws was followed by consecutive losses, marking seven league games without a win for Atalanta. This is their longest winless streak since August to October 2018. Juric's final match saw Atalanta suffer a 3-0 defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday. It was the first time they lost a Serie A home game by at least three goals since December 2021.

Juric Sacked by Atalanta After Poor Start

Currently, Atalanta sits 13th in the Serie A standings with 13 points. In the Champions League table, they are positioned at 16th out of 36 teams. The club expressed gratitude towards Juric and his staff for their efforts and wished them success in future endeavours.

Potential Replacement for Juric

Raffaele Palladino, previously with Fiorentina, is speculated to be Juric's successor at Atalanta. The team is set to face champions Napoli on November 22 after the international break. "Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as first team coach," stated the club.

The decision reflects Atalanta's need for change after an unsatisfactory run under Juric's leadership. The upcoming match against Napoli will be crucial as they aim to improve their position in both domestic and European competitions.
