Bengaluru, August 7: Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere's goal of reviving his Gunners career might have dealt a major blow as manager Arsene Wenger indicated that the midfielder could be permitted to leave the club before the end of this month for a game time.

The 25-year-old has battled injuries for the last couple of seasons and is also sidelined for the start of this new season after he broke his leg last year.

Wilshere spent the whole of last season on loan at Bournemouth and was fit for the most of the season before fracturing his leg against Tottenham Hotspur in April. While he was playing he failed to have a strong impact on Eddie Howe's side and was often overlooked from the first XI.

Wilshere is one of the few players at Arsenal who will enter the last year of their contract along with players like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. Although Wenger remains adamant that he won't let go Sanchez and Ozil at any cost this summer, however his stance on Wilshere was different.

"That decision is not completely made," said the manager, when asked if Wilshere will stay.

"I want him to have a chance to play somewhere as well."

"We have to decide that a bit later. I wanted first him to come back, he is coming out of a fracture. It is the first week he is back in full training and we have to sit down together and see where we go from there."

"I gave him a start at a very young age," he added. "He has gone through difficult times, I want him to have the career he can have and I am quite open on that. He has the talent to be regular, but he has to come back to competition in a consistent way."

Wilshere returned to training last week, but was omitted from the squad of the Community Shield winning team.

The midfielder has reportedly attracted interests from clubs like Sampdoria and West Ham United this Summer, but the player hinted that he wants to remain at the club where he has been since the age of nine.

However, after such adversarial words from his boss, it is highly unlikely the midfielder will get a chance to showcase his potential at the Emirates in the coming days.
