Jamie Vardy: Rejecting Arsenal was correct decision

Leicester, Sep 8: Leicester City star attacker Jamie Vardy has claimed that his decision of rejecting a move to Arsenal last year at the time was perfectly correct however he is now open to move elsewhere if he gets the possibility of winning more trophies.

Vardy guided a minnow Leicester City to their first Premier League title in 2015-16 and was subsequently linked with a move to Arsenal last year. However, the deal never materialised and later Vardy signed a new contract.

The 30-year-old English international was also recently linked with Chelsea and Atletico Madrid for a potential switch and talking about such situation, Vardy claimed that he can now reconsider his decision if some big offer arrives but only where he can win more trophies.

"I want to win as much as possible, I don't want to only have one Premier League medal in my drawer at home - it would be an empty glass cabinet," Vardy said. "I'm contracted to Leicester and we will see how high we can go. In the future, who knows?"

Vardy though also added that he could well off move to cash riched league likes China or USA in future, however, claimed his latest decision of snubbing was correct as he believes the clubs are on a downfall and he does not regret missing chances of winning medals like FA Cup which Arsenal won last year.

Vardy added: "Just because I turned down Arsenal, that was my choice, but if another offer came in it would be the same in that I would look at it and work out the pros and cons. But no, turning down Arsenal doesn't mean I wouldn't look at another offer."

"I'm a bit of a psychic, I could see the little downfall they are on now. They had qualified for the Champions League for the last 20 years until last year. That was something to think about. Leicester were also in the Champions League and on a different night at home against Atletico (Madrid) we could have gone even further.

"But there were all sorts (of reasons). Football was the main thing but moving the family when I'd just bought a house would have been a laugh - not."
