Jamshedpur FC are going to kickstart the second half of the Indian Super League season with a date against Northeast United on Wednesday (January 31).
As they prepare for the resumption of the league, things will have to change for the Red Miners. The Jamshedpur side is currently placed 10th in the league table with just 9 points in 12 matches.

Jamshedpur FC managed just two wins in the first half of the league. Both of their wins came against Hyderabad FC, who are at the bottom of the league table. Their dismal form also led to the demise of Scott Cooper, and Khalid Jamil has replaced him at the helm.
But there is a huge hope for the Red Miners, especially after their stellar outing in the Kalinga Super Cup. Jamshedpur beat the odds and reached the semifinal of the tournament this year. The performances against the likes of Northeast United, Kerala Blasters were quite excellent and Khalid Jamil will be hoping to implement the same as the ISL resumes.
The key players of the team have also tasted some form in the Kalinga Super Cup. Nigerian striker Daniel Chima Chukwu is confident about a turnaround after their decent Super Cup campaign, whereas players like Jeremy Manzorro, Alen Stevanovic, and Rei Tachikawa have also stepped up in the last month or so.
Along with their foreign nucleus, Indian players like Mohammad Uvais, TP Rehenesh, Sanan Mohammed and Provat Lakra are tipped to play a big part as well.
The challenge is going to be a big one for them to reach the playoffs. JFC has a decent squad, but they have struggled to get results in the past despite some decent performances. And ahead of the final half of the season, their aim will be to get over the line and grind out positive results. With Khalid Jamil at the helm, there is optimism and if things are put in the right place, Jamshedpur FC can obviously resurrect their season.
