Jamshedpur FC: JFC may retain only Two of their Current Foreign Players for next season

Jamshedpur FC had a topsy-turvy time in the just concluded Indian Super League season.

The season started with Scott Cooper at the helm for Jamshedpur, and after a dismal period, the baton was handed over to Khalid Jamil. Under the Indian manager, JFC had a decent outing in the latter half of the league season but could only finish 11th in the table with 21 points in 22 matches. They also reached the semifinals of the Kalinga Super Cup.

In a season which had major ups and downs, a few Jamshedpur players caught the eye. Among the Indian players, Provat Lakra and Imran Khan were standouts, while Jeremy Manzorro, Daniel Chima Chukwu starred and brought overseas quality to their team.

But who are the foreigners that the Red Miners fans can expect to be back next Season? MyKhel can understand that majority of the JFC foreigners are likely to seek new pastures for the new season.

Jeremy Manzorro

The Frenchman had a superb second half of the season but sources close to JFC tells MyKhel that Manzorro may not be at the club next season.

Javier Siverio

JFC signed Siverio on loan from East Bengal and the Spaniard is unlikely to be back at the Jharkhand club next season. Alen Stevanovic is also going to be shipped off.

Rei Tachikawa

Rei Tachikawa is close to agreeing an extension of his deal with Jamshedpur FC. The Japanese midfielder played a key part in their season and is likely to be a part of the Men of Steel next season.

Daniel Chima Chukwu

Daniel Chima Chukwu has other suitors in Indian football and the Nigerian may switch clubs ahead of next season. He scored six goals for JFC last season in the ISL.

Elsinho

Elsinho was perhaps the best foreigner for Jamshedpur last season. The Brazilian started as a centre-back but then slowly got integrated into the midfield. The versatile player is also poised to extend his stay with JFC but nothing concrete has happened yet.
