It followed a 2-1 win in their previous meeting on September 17, 2024. The match commenced with both teams displaying attacking intent. In the 34th minute, defender Lazar Cirkovic unleashed a powerful shot into the top right corner, giving Jamshedpur FC the lead.

Shortly after, in the 37th minute, Mohammed Sanan's skillful play down the left flank culminated in a shot that goalkeeper Hrithik Tiwari parried, only for Javier Siverio to capitalize and double the advantage. FC Goa responded just before halftime.
