Jamshedpur FC claimed a narrow 2-1 win over Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the first leg of the Indian Super League 2024-25 semifinal, played at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The hosts began brightly and broke the deadlock in the 24th minute through forward Javier Siverio, who made the most of a defensive lapse to give Jamshedpur the lead. However, Mohun Bagan responded with a well-worked equalizer in the 37th minute, with Jason Cummings finishing off a slick move to level the scores.

The second half saw both sides pushing for a breakthrough, with chances falling at both ends. Just as the match seemed to be heading for a draw, Javi Hernández stepped up in stoppage time, netting a dramatic winner in the 90+1st minute to hand Jamshedpur a slender advantage going into the second leg.
With this result, Jamshedpur FC take a one-goal cushion to the reverse fixture at the Salt Lake Stadium. The tie remains finely poised, with everything to play for as both teams aim for a spot in the ISL final.
