Mumbai City FC's newest midfield talent, Jeremy Manzorro, is on a mission to lead the Islanders to glory in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. Signed from Jamshedpur FC, the 32-year-old Frenchman brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to winning silverware, despite a challenging start for the team this season.
Manzorro's journey to Mumbai began with a call from the club's management, who expressed interest in his future as he neared the end of his contract with Jamshedpur. Following productive discussions during the off-season, Manzorro committed to a two-year deal with Mumbai City, where he was quickly introduced to the vision of head coach Petr Kratky.

The midfielder revealed that Kratky's inclusive approach to leadership was a decisive factor in his decision, as the coach's transparency and keen interest in each player's development impressed him greatly. "Petr took the time to understand every individual," Manzorro said. "It makes us want to work harder for him and the team."
Mumbai City's current season started on a rocky note, with the club securing just two wins alongside four draws and a loss in its first seven games. However, Manzorro remains optimistic, asserting that slow starts can build resilience and foster a winning mentality. "When you overcome setbacks, it makes you stronger," he noted. "Winning after such a start brings us closer, and the team morale is higher now."
A pivotal aspect of Manzorro's game is his exceptional free-kick ability. Indian football fans took notice last season when he netted three stunning free-kick goals, including a thrilling 97th-minute winner against East Bengal FC. Manzorro attributes his proficiency to years of practice.
"There's no secret to it-it's all about hard work," he explained. "I've trained for years on my technique, and seeing it pay off last season was very rewarding." Looking ahead, he has set an ambitious goal for himself, saying, "If I can score one [free-kick] per game, it will be perfect, but as everyone knows, it's not possible, but I will try my best to help the team as I can with free kicks."
He also looks forward to help the team in any way he can. "With some pass, with running, was whatever is the most important is that you take 3 points every game," he noted. Mumbai City are yet to take control of the season but with Manzorro's help, they still can with most part of the season yet to be played.
Manzorro's passion for football has taken him across leagues in France, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Kazakhstan, where he gained experience in prestigious competitions like the UEFA Europa League. Along the way, he collected titles, including two league championships in Kazakhstan. Now, as he adapts to the climate and competitive atmosphere in India, he is fully committed to making a difference with Mumbai City FC.
"My goal is to stay healthy and play as many games as possible this season," Manzorro stated. "Whether it's through my free kicks, passing, or just giving my all on the field, I want to help us collect three points every match." With his sights set on lifting a trophy, Jeremy Manzorro brings both skill and determination to the pitch.
