Jhon Duran Transfers To Al-Nassr From Aston Villa In Major Move

Jhon Duran has officially joined Al-Nassr from Aston Villa on a five-year deal valued at GBP 71 million. The Colombian forward will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane in the Saudi Pro League.

Jhon Duran has transferred from Aston Villa to Al-Nassr, signing a five-year contract. This agreement will keep him at the Saudi Pro League club until 2030, with the deal reportedly valued at up to £71 million. Duran scored 12 goals in 29 appearances for Villa this season, including seven in the Premier League, with four of those as a substitute.

The Colombian forward joined Aston Villa in January 2023 from Chicago Fire. Earlier this season, he had extended his contract with Villa until 2030. Despite his recent commitment, Duran has now moved to Al-Nassr, where he will wear the iconic No. 9 jersey.

Duran Moves to Al-Nassr from Aston Villa

At Al-Nassr, Duran will join notable players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane. The team is currently positioned third in the league standings. The club expressed excitement about adding Duran to their roster, highlighting his potential impact on their performance.

Aston Villa released a statement wishing Jhon success in his future endeavours. "Everyone at Aston Villa would like to wish Jhon all the best in the next step of his professional career," the club stated.

Duran's move comes after interest from West Ham during the last two transfer windows. However, Aston Villa turned down their offers before agreeing to terms with Al-Nassr. This transfer leaves Ollie Watkins as Villa's sole recognised striker.

Watkins' future at Aston Villa is uncertain following a reported bid from Arsenal. The club may need to consider options for strengthening their attacking line-up if Watkins also departs.

Duran's time at Aston Villa was marked by significant contributions on the field. He netted a total of 20 goals across all competitions for the team, including a decisive winner against Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this season.
