Jammu, May 12 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) will announce the final squad on May 20 for the Santosh trophy to be played here from May 25 to June 15.

With just few days left for the tournament, the Jammu and Kashmir State team has yet to be finalized out of the 30-probables, who are sweating hard to get into the team.

''As 30-probables were selected two-weeks ago, who are undergoing a camp under the training of National coach but the final squad will be announced on may 20,'' president JKFA Zameer Ahmed Thakur told UNI.

''As many as 31 teams from across the country have confirmed their participation and will display their soccer skills in the 62nd edition of the prestigious tournament,'' Thakur said adding, ''almost all the final arrangements have been made to host the tournament as the state sports council has provided the requited facilities.'' Out of confirmed 31 teams, four teams will have direct entry into the quarterfinals round while the rest 27 have been distributed into eight clusters.

''Eight teams from each cluster securing highest points will qualify for pre-quarterfinals round, out of which four will sail into the quarterfinals,'' he added.

Thakur said the opening ceremony will be held at Srinagar on May 25 in which the host Jammu and Kashmir will take on Pondicherry in the opening match.

After almost three decades, the Jammu and Kashmir will be hosting prestigious Santosh trophy, which is going to begin from May 25 with fanfare and conclude on June 15.
