Joao Felix Joins AC Milan On Loan From Chelsea To Boost Attack For 2024-25 Season

AC Milan has secured Joao Felix on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. The Portugal international aims to enhance Milan's attacking options after limited playtime at Chelsea.

AC Milan have strengthened their forward line by acquiring Joao Felix from Chelsea on loan for the rest of the 2024-25 season. The Italian club paid a £5 million loan fee for the Portuguese international, with no obligation to purchase him permanently next summer. This move adds depth to Milan's attacking options as they aim to improve their standing in Serie A.

Joao Felix joined Chelsea permanently in August last year after a successful loan spell. He signed a seven-year contract worth £35 million. However, he has found limited playing time this season due to Chelsea's extensive summer signings. Despite being one of 11 new players at Stamford Bridge, Felix has only made 20 appearances across all competitions.

Joao Felix Signs Loan Deal with AC Milan

The former Atletico Madrid striker has been primarily utilised in cup competitions under manager Maresca. In the Europa Conference League, EFL Cup, and FA Cup, he scored six goals in eight matches over 584 minutes of play. His contributions have been significant despite limited opportunities in the Premier League.

Milan's head coach Sergio Conceicao now has an additional attacking option with Felix's arrival at San Siro. The club also secured Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez on deadline day and had earlier completed deals for Kyle Walker and Warren Bondo. These acquisitions aim to boost Milan's performance in domestic and European competitions.

Milan currently sits eighth in Serie A after a 1-1 draw against Inter in the recent derby. They are preparing to face Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday. Additionally, they have a Champions League play-off tie against Feyenoord later this month, which presents another opportunity to advance in European football.

The addition of Joao Felix is expected to enhance Milan's attacking capabilities as they navigate these challenges. His creativity and flair could be crucial as they strive for success both domestically and internationally.
