John Eustace Leaves Blackburn Rovers To Become Head Coach Of Derby County

John Eustace has taken on the role of head coach at Derby County, leaving Blackburn Rovers. His departure comes after Blackburn's 2-0 victory against West Bromwich Albion, which placed them fifth in the league, significantly ahead of Derby County. Despite this, Eustace is drawn to the long-term vision at Derby, committing until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Eustace began his managerial career with Birmingham City in July 2022. He led them to their highest points tally since 2016 and avoided relegation in his first season. In his second season, he guided Birmingham to sixth place before being unexpectedly replaced by Wayne Rooney. Rooney's tenure was short-lived, lasting only 15 matches.

In February 2024, Eustace joined Blackburn Rovers on a two-and-a-half-year contract. During his time there, he finished 19th in the 2023-24 season and achieved 13 wins in the current Championship campaign. Overall, he won 18 out of 52 games across all competitions with Blackburn.
