'Viagra Helped... I'm Joking!' Jordan Henderson Responds to England's Viral Altitude Remedy Ahead of Mexico Clash

Are the Three Lions taking Viagra to beat the Mexican wave?

Well, not really, but rumours have it that the 1966 World Cup winners are taking 'strange' measures to fuel their pre-quarter preparations against hosts Mexico at the iconic Estadio Azteca stadium in Mexico City. One of them can be as quirky as consuming 'viagra'!

Viagra Helped I m Joking Jordan Henderson Responds to England s Viral Altitude Remedy Ahead of Mexico Clash

While England's midfielder, Jordan Henderson, has denied all charges, the English team is already facing an uphill task in Mexico. The English team has been facing a deadly race against time to acclimatise themselves to the conditions of nearly 2,000 metres above sea level to face El Tri. Moreover, reports suggest that Mexican fans gathered outside the England team's hotel, celebrating late into the night, prompting complaints from the England camp that the noise was disrupting the players' rest ahead of the match.

While the midfielder dismissed the speculation with humour, both he and England head coach Thomas Tuchel acknowledged that the altitude in Mexico City has posed a genuine physical challenge for the squad as they prepare for the last-16 encounter.

Is The Viagra News True?

England manager Thomas Tuchel and midfielder Jordan Henderson have dismissed speculation that the squad could use Viagra to cope with the high-altitude conditions in Mexico City ahead of their FIFA World Cup Round of 16 clash against hosts Mexico.
Addressing the rumours during a press conference, Tuchel made it clear that there was no truth to the reports.

"The information to support it (Viagra rumours) didn't reach me, so that's not true," Tuchel said, as quoted by Goal.com. Henderson initially joked about the speculation before offering his honest assessment of the conditions.

"Well, the Viagra helped, I think... I'm joking! It was a joke," Henderson quipped. The experienced midfielder admitted that the altitude was noticeable after arriving in Mexico City, but insisted the effect diminished once training got underway.

"You can feel it a little bit. Even when you just land and you come to the hotel, you're just walking around, you can feel something. Then today in training, for me personally, I felt it maybe in the first 10 or 15 minutes. Once training got going, I stopped thinking about it and just concentrated on training," he explained.

How Can Viagra Help The English Athletes?

The rumours gained traction after reports suggested that Viagra, which is not prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), has been explored in some sports as a potential aid to help athletes perform in high-altitude environments.

England will take on co-hosts Mexico at the iconic Estadio Azteca on July 6, with the Three Lions aiming to overcome both a formidable opponent and the challenges posed by the venue's high altitude.
