Wolves have finalised the permanent signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen from Celta Vigo. The Norwegian striker has agreed to a four-year deal with the club. Initially, he joined Wolves on a season-long loan last year, following a successful stint in LaLiga where he netted 13 goals in the 2023-24 season.
Strand Larsen quickly adapted to the Premier League, even as Wolves faced relegation threats before Vitor Pereira's intervention. He concluded the 2024-25 season with 14 league goals, helping Wolves secure a 16th-place finish. This was a significant improvement from their earlier position of 19th when Gary O'Neil was dismissed in December.

The striker's impressive tally of 14 goals came from opportunities valued at 10.27 expected goals (xG). Among players who scored at least five Premier League goals last season, Strand Larsen ranked third in shot conversion rate at 25.9% and second in shooting accuracy at 69.4%. Eight of his goals were scored under Pereira's management, including a streak of seven goals in eight matches between March and May.
During this period, Wolves enjoyed a six-game winning streak that helped them avoid relegation. Strand Larsen became only the second player in club history to score in four consecutive Premier League games, following Henri Camara's five-game run in 2004. Notably, he was the first to achieve this feat during four successive victories.
The terms of Strand Larsen's loan included clauses that would make his move permanent if he met specific performance targets. Having achieved these objectives, he is now committed to Wolves until 2029. "It's been a good first season in the Premier League," Strand Larsen stated on the club's website upon confirmation of his permanent transfer.
"I'm proud of what I've done," he continued. "I've been able to take steps earlier than before. Previously, moving to a new country required more time for me to adapt and score goals." He emphasised the importance of scoring as a striker and expressed satisfaction with his performance despite injuries and form dips.
Strand Larsen will reunite with former Celta teammate Fer Lopez next season. The creative midfielder joined Wolves last month for £19 million. The upcoming Premier League campaign sees Wolves facing Manchester City on August 16, followed by matches against Bournemouth and Everton later that month.
"Since Vitor and his staff came in, I scored eight goals," Strand Larsen noted, reflecting on his strong finish to the season. "Seven goals in eight games marked a positive end for me personally and for our team's progress towards next season."
