London, Aug 8: Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu Mensah is all set to join Premier League outfit Crystal Palace on a season long loan, manager Jose Mourinho confirmed.

The young Dutch defender was highly linked with a reunion with his former Boss Frank De Boer at the Selhurst Park and Mourinho's recent comments suggest that a move is already in the pipelines.

Ahead of Manchester United's match against Real Madrid for the Super Cup Final, Mourinho discussed his probable squad in the Press conference and while talking the same, he suggested that the move of the 19-year-old will be done in the upcoming weeks.

Mourinho said: "No Tim Fosu-Mensah because, in this moment, Tim is probably going on loan to another club. So we made the decision not to travel with him."

Fosu-Mensah, speaking to Press Association Sport, also confirmed the news and suggested that he would benefit from more minutes on the pitch at Selhurst Park.

"It's fine because you're surrounded by great players," he said.

"Every day, in and out, you train with great players. You develop every day with these great players.

"I just want to develop, keep developing. I am young so I try to work on my weaker stuff and to become a better and complete player. I need a bit of experience, things like concentration, touches, communicating on the pitch."

After arriving at the club in 2014-15 as a 16-year-old the right-back made his debut under Louis van Gaal during the 2015/2016 season. The defender caught the eye of everyone with his ability with the ball and defensive display.

However, under Jose Mourinho last term, the teenager endured a frustrating campaign and made 11 appearances for the club in all competitions. And with the arrival of new signing Victor Lindelof, it was certain that the youngster will found himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

However, the 19-year-old last October put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2020 which all but ensures that the defender is surely in Mourinho's future plans and if he can prove himself at this move, he will surely have a long career at the Old Trafford.
