Jose Mourinho keeping tabs on loanee Timothy Fosu-Mensah

he Dutch international joined Palace on a season-long loan on the eve of the new Premier League season, and the 19-year-old has featured in both of Crystal Palace's games so far this season.

Bengaluru, August 22: Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah may be on loan at Crystal Palace but has stated that he is still in contact with Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff for assessment.

Mourinho earlier claimed that the youngster has a future at Old Trafford and gave him another four-year contract back in October to ensure his stay. However, the youngster only got four starts last season and to continue his progress Mourinho decided to send him on loan to Palace where he will get proper game time.

The Dutch international joined Palace on a season-long loan on the eve of the new Premier League season, and the 19-year-old has featured in both of Crystal Palace's games so far this season.

Also, Since the move, the Manchester United manager has offered positive statements on the defender and reportedly assistant manager Rui Faria has also been reaching Fosu-Mensah, with the coaching staff ensuring lines of communication stay open while he is at Selhurst Park.

It is believed that both the parties have been continuously in contact over with phone and text messages during the loan period and now in a recent interview, the youngster has also stated the same.

"He's been texting but sometimes he rings," Fosu-Mensah told the 'Daily Mail'.

"Sometimes it is the assistant too (Rui Faria). It's definitely good to have that contact because I'm still under contract there."

"He's (Jose) told me to just keep focusing on my game. We spoke and both came to the agreement that this is the best move for my development. He's said that we should keep talking to each other."

Fosu-Mensah has played in two positions in the two matches under Frank De Boer. One as a right fullback whereas the one as a right centre back in a three man defence. However, in both cases Palace lost the match however, Fosu Mensah did well enough in both the matches.
