Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly being considered for a sensational return to the Premier League, with Everton eyeing him as a potential successor to Sean Dyche.
The rumors come as Everton look for a significant shift in ownership, with American businessman Dan Friedkin set to purchase a majority stake in the club.

Friedkin, who owns AS Roma, has reportedly reached an agreement with current Everton owner Farhad Moshiri to acquire his 94% stake, pending regulatory approval. If the sale goes through, Everton's new ownership is expected to make sweeping changes, starting with a possible managerial shake-up.
While current manager Sean Dyche remains in charge, his position is under increasing scrutiny due to the club's poor form this season. Everton have won just two of their seven matches across all competitions, raising concerns about the direction of the team under Dyche's leadership.
If the Toffees fail to improve their results in the coming weeks, it is believed that Friedkin's group will look to make a change at the managerial level. Mourinho, who currently manages Turkish side Fenerbahce after leaving Roma earlier this year, is one of the top candidates on Everton's radar.
The 61-year-old Portuguese tactician worked closely with Friedkin during his time at Roma and is seen by the new ownership as a perfect option to steer Everton out of their current struggles.
With Mourinho's vast Premier League experience, having previously managed Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham, he is considered well-suited to the demands of English football.
However, prying Mourinho away from Fenerbahce may prove difficult, as he only joined the Turkish giants this summer. Leaving mid-season could be a challenge, though it's not out of the question given Mourinho's ambition and the potential appeal of a Premier League return.
Aside from Mourinho, Everton's potential new owners are also considering other managerial options should Dyche be relieved of his duties. Former Everton manager David Moyes, currently at West Ham United, is said to be another strong contender, while Maurizio Sarri, who has previously managed Chelsea and Napoli, is also in the mix.
