Juventus Secures 1-0 Victory Over Inter As Conceicao Scores Late Winner

Inter Milan missed the opportunity to lead Serie A after Francisco Conceicao's late goal secured a 1-0 victory for Juventus. The Portuguese winger ignited celebrations at Allianz Stadium, scoring in the 74th minute following Randal Kolo Muani's clever setup. Inter failed to take advantage of Napoli's 2-2 draw with Lazio, remaining two points behind the leaders with 54 points, while Juventus sits fourth.

Juventus remains unbeaten at home this season, with six wins and seven draws. This formidable home record contributed to their recent success, including three consecutive league victories for the first time this season. These wins also marked their first streak of clean sheets since December 2023 to January 2024.

Inter started strong with Mehdi Taremi's bicycle kick saved by Michele Di Gregorio. Denzel Dumfries then shot over the bar. Juventus responded as Nico Gonzalez forced Yann Sommer into a double save, initially from long range and then from Conceicao's rebound attempt. Both teams continued attacking in the second half.

Conceicao eventually broke through Inter's defence, capitalising on Kolo Muani's skillful play against three defenders before setting up his teammate for a composed left-footed finish. Teun Koopmeiners nearly added another goal but was blocked by Sommer and Dumfries on the line, leaving Juventus satisfied with their narrow win.

Inter has now suffered consecutive away losses in Serie A for the first time since early 2023, having previously lost to Bologna and Spezia. This result was somewhat anticipated given Juventus' strong home form this season. Inzaghi will need to address these away struggles if Inter hopes to stay in title contention.

Despite feeling hard done by Conceicao's late strike, Inter had better chances according to expected goals (xG), registering 1.94 compared to Juve's 1.16. However, Juventus' defensive solidity has been key this season, boasting a league-high 12 clean sheets in the current campaign.
