Juventus' football director, Cristiano Giuntoli, expressed confidence in Thiago Motta despite a second consecutive heavy defeat. After a 4-0 loss to Atalanta, Juventus suffered a 3-0 defeat against Fiorentina, placing them fifth in Serie A. Quick goals from Robin Gosens and Rolando Mandragora set Fiorentina ahead before Albert Gudmundsson secured the win. This marks only the third time Juventus has lost two straight Serie A matches by at least three goals.
Giuntoli emphasised unity during challenging times, stating, "In these moments, we must all stay united, we all come out of difficulties together." He acknowledged the team's inconsistent performance this year but remained optimistic about overcoming challenges collectively. When asked about Motta's future, Giuntoli was clear: "Certainly," he affirmed. The club embarked on a project anticipating difficulties and is focused on qualifying for the Champions League.

Despite recent setbacks, Giuntoli remains level-headed, recalling the club's strong start with consecutive 3-0 victories over Como and Verona. He noted that media once considered Juventus potential league winners after their win against Verona. "We need balance; we cannot go from the stars to the stables," Giuntoli remarked. The team aims to move forward with clarity and maintain equilibrium both on and off the field.
Juventus struggled offensively against Fiorentina, managing only two shots on target from 11 attempts against David de Gea. Not since last September have they failed to register a first-half shot on target in two consecutive Serie A matches (against Atalanta and Fiorentina). Until recently, Juventus boasted the league's best defence but have now conceded seven goals in two games.
Despite challenges in his debut season with Juventus, Motta remains resolute. With Juve out of contention for the title, Champions League, and Coppa Italia, he refuses to resign. "It would be too easy to do it. I don't like easy things," Motta stated when questioned about stepping down. His focus is on securing a top-four finish in the championship.
Reflecting on recent games, Motta observed similarities: "It's a bit like a continuation of the last game; it's the same story." He noted that while they start well, they struggle to respond to early setbacks as seen against Atalanta. Finding ways to secure necessary points remains crucial for achieving their goal of finishing in the top four this season.
Juventus is determined to regain form after recent defeats. The club aims to restore balance and improve performances as they strive for Champions League qualification amidst ongoing challenges this season.
