Juventus manager Thiago Motta expressed the need for his team to enhance their performance both as a unit and individually after a 1-1 draw with Lecce in Serie A. This result marked their third consecutive draw, following goalless matches against Milan and Aston Villa. Juventus set a new club record with their 18th Serie A draw in 2024, surpassing the previous record of 17 in 1956.
Motta emphasised the importance of understanding key moments in matches. "After taking the lead, we can improve certain aspects of the game, both collectively and individually," he stated to DAZN. Ante Rebic's late goal for Lecce cancelled out Andrea Cambiaso's earlier strike for Juventus. Despite being unbeaten in Europe's top five leagues with six wins and eight draws, Juventus has drawn more matches than any other team.

Reflecting on their league performance, Motta noted that they have generally received what they deserved. "Sometimes we have played better than the opponent, other times the games have been more balanced," he observed. Juventus currently stands sixth in the table with 26 points from 14 matches, trailing leaders Napoli by six points.
Injuries have plagued Juventus this season, affecting key players like Dusan Vlahovic, who has netted six goals so far, along with Nicolo Savona and Weston McKennie. Motta acknowledged that fatigue was evident in the second half against Lecce. "We saw in the second half that the team was running out of steam," he remarked.
Motta highlighted that Lecce capitalised on Juventus' mistakes during the first half but admitted his team opened up too much after leading. He stressed the need for improvement in recognising these critical moments during games. "We've got to improve, learn certain things and keep thinking positive," he added.
Despite remaining undefeated in their last 22 Serie A games, Juventus aims to convert more draws into victories starting with their upcoming match against Bologna on Saturday. Preparing both physically and mentally for future challenges is crucial for them as they strive to climb higher in the standings.
