Juventus Boss Thiago Motta Confident In Francisco Conceicao For Supercoppa Clash Against AC Milan

Thiago Motta has not guaranteed Francisco Conceicao a starting spot for Juventus against AC Milan on Friday. However, he is confident in the player's ability to perform if selected. Conceicao, who joined from Porto in the summer, has scored three goals and provided four assists in 19 matches. The upcoming match could see him face a team now led by his father, Sergio, recently appointed as Milan's coach.

Motta expressed confidence in Conceicao's mindset ahead of this potential family encounter. Speaking before the Supercoppa Italiana match in Saudi Arabia, Motta stated: "We'll see if he plays or not, he's motivated to do well both from the start and during the match. I don't think it changes anything for him; facing a great team is the only thing he needs to focus on."

The Juventus manager emphasised that Milan remains a formidable opponent regardless of their coach. "We will definitely be ready because we know what we need to do against a great team, accustomed to important competitions," Motta said. He stressed that their own performance would be crucial rather than focusing on Milan's actions.

The history between Juventus and Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana includes three previous encounters. Juventus emerged victorious in their last meeting with a 1-0 win in 2019. The Bianconeri have claimed the title nine times, more than any other club.
