Juventus faced another frustrating draw in Serie A against Fiorentina on Sunday. Khephren Thuram scored first, but Moise Kean equalised before Thuram added another after the break. Riccardo Sottil's late goal secured a point for Fiorentina in Turin. Juventus have drawn 11 of their 18 league matches this season, the highest among Europe's top five leagues.
This was Juventus' 21st draw in 2024, a record only surpassed by Perugia in 1979 for most draws in a single calendar year in Italy's top division. Despite having an expected goals (xG) total of 1.45 from 15 attempts, only five were on target at the Allianz Arena.

Thiago Motta expressed his satisfaction with the team's attacking approach but acknowledged the need to close out games better. "I'm very happy, the idea is to continue attacking and not sit back and concede goals," Motta told Sky Sport. He emphasised focusing on securing a third goal rather than defensive errors.
Juventus remains unbeaten this season, holding sixth place with 32 points, tied with fifth-placed Fiorentina who have played one less game. They are the first team since their own 2018-19 campaign to remain undefeated after 18 Serie A matches.
Motta dismissed suggestions that failing to score a decisive third goal was due to bad luck, stressing the need for more precision. "No, I don't believe in these things," he said. "We definitely need to improve our precision."
Thuram's performance was notable as he became the first Juventus midfielder since Angelo Alessio in 1990 to score twice against Fiorentina in Serie A. Motta praised Thuram's efforts: "We want guys like that, guys who want to finish the game well."
The result left Juventus reflecting on missed opportunities but also highlighted their resilience and potential for improvement as they aim to climb higher in the league standings.
