Juventus' recent draw against Venezia marked their 10th in 16 league matches this season. Thiago Motta emphasised the need for change after a late Dusan Vlahovic penalty saved them from a home defeat, resulting in a 2-2 draw with Serie A's bottom team. Despite being unbeaten alongside Paris Saint-Germain in Europe's top five leagues, Juventus have struggled to convert draws into victories.
Motta's team currently sits sixth with 28 points, having secured six wins and 10 draws. This performance mirrors their 1998-99 season when they also had just six victories after 16 games, eventually finishing seventh. Reflecting on the match, Motta told Sky Sports Italia, "We did not put in a good performance against a team that defended well. We certainly need to do better."

The coach stressed the importance of maintaining momentum after taking the lead, rather than trying to run down the clock. Juventus have now set a club record with 20 draws in Serie A during 2024. Motta acknowledged that their current form makes it difficult to discuss ambitions for the season.
After the match, Juventus fans expressed their frustration by hurling insults at players. Motta commented on this reaction, stating, "The fans have the freedom to express their emotions and feelings." He added that players are equally disappointed with the results and wish they could have changed things.
Motta urged unity among fans and players to improve Juventus' situation. He stated, "We must be united and keep going forward for the good of Juventus." The coach reiterated that now is not the time to talk about winning titles but to focus on improving performances in upcoming matches.
Despite challenges, Motta remains hopeful for change. He emphasised that everyone involved wants to alter their current trajectory. The focus is on delivering better performances and achieving different results in future games.
