Juventus managed to break their streak of draws with a 2-1 victory over Monza on Sunday. Thiago Motta expressed satisfaction with the win but acknowledged that the team should have secured the points earlier. Juventus had previously drawn four consecutive Serie A matches, but goals from Weston McKennie and Nicolas Gonzalez ended this run, despite Samuele Birindelli's equaliser.
This victory marked Juventus' 1,700th win in Italy's top division. The team is now unbeaten in their last 25 league games, boasting nine wins and 16 draws. This is currently the longest undefeated streak among the Big-5 European leagues. Despite this achievement, Juventus remains nine points behind league leaders Atalanta.

Motta shared his thoughts on the team's performance against defensive teams that rely on counter-attacks. "We have always struggled against teams that defend and go on the counter," he stated. He emphasised the importance of taking risks to secure victories and noted that Juventus needed to improve their transitions when leading.
Motta mentioned that he does not focus on league standings during the festive season. "We only look at the table at the end of the season," he said, stressing a game-by-game approach to achieve maximum results against each opponent.
Teun Koopmeiners was substituted at halftime due to discomfort. Motta confirmed it was a precautionary measure as Koopmeiners felt a pull in his adductor muscle. "Koopmeiners felt a bit of a pull in his adductor, we didn't want to risk it," Motta explained.
Nicolas Gonzalez has scored in two consecutive matches for all competitions for the first time since September-October 2023 while playing for Fiorentina. Motta praised Gonzalez for his adaptability, noting his ability to play various roles effectively. "He can play on the right or left, as a centre-forward," Motta said.
Gonzalez expressed willingness to play out of position if needed after returning from a two-month absence due to muscular issues. "To help the team, I can also play as goalkeeper," Gonzalez joked after scoring the winning goal against Monza.
Juventus' recent win highlights their resilience and adaptability in challenging situations. As they continue their campaign, maintaining focus on individual matches will be crucial for achieving their goals this season.
