Lloyd Kelly has secured a loan move to Juventus for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, just eight months after his transfer from Bournemouth to Newcastle United. The agreement includes a mandatory purchase clause for Juventus, reportedly set at £14.5 million, contingent upon meeting specific performance targets.
Kelly's time at Newcastle saw him participate in 14 matches across various competitions, though he started only four times under manager Eddie Howe. His final appearance for Newcastle was in a 2-1 home loss to Fulham, where he substituted Lewis Hall in the last three minutes.
Juventus has acquired Kelly to reinforce their defence following injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal. The club highlighted Kelly's experience, physicality, aerial prowess, and defensive acumen as valuable assets. "Arriving from Newcastle United in the English Premier League, Kelly brings with him experience, physicality, aerial strength and a solid defensive reading of the game," stated Juventus.

In addition to Kelly, Juventus has also brought in Portugal defender Renato Veiga on loan from Chelsea until the season's end. These signings aim to bolster their squad as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
Juventus is set to face Como in a Serie A match on Friday. The team will be looking to integrate their new signings into the squad quickly as they continue their campaign.
This strategic move by Juventus aims to address their defensive gaps while providing Kelly with an opportunity to showcase his skills on a larger stage. As the season progresses, both parties will be keenly observing how this loan deal unfolds.
