Juventus target English prodigy Ryan Sessegnon

Bengaluru, April 24: Serie A giants Juventus are prepared to rival Tottenham for the signature of Ryan Sessegnon, according to reports in Italy.

It is understood that the Italian giants are keen on making a move for the Fulham star this summer.

The Cottagers are almost certain to lose their prodigy at the end of the season as the West Londoners prepare for life back in the Championship after relegation was confirmed at the beginning of April.

It is expected a bid of around £40million would be enough to convince the Craven Cottage club into selling.

It was reported last week that Mauricio Pochettino is trying his best to lure Sessegnon, 18, to the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

His work during his five years in North London makes him a massive attraction for young players.

But according to latest reports in England, Juventus are set to try and sign the left-back, who can also play as a winger.

With an ageing squad, the Old Lady are keen on bringing in young blood and Sessegnon fits the mould.

He may be young but already has 115 first-team appearances under his belt, 30 of which have come in the Premier League.

And for Sessegnon, the chance to win league titles and compete in the Champions League, as well as lining up with Cristiano Ronaldo of course, will surely be a major draw.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be monitoring his situation, while Borussia Dortmund also remain interested.

The German giants already have Jadon Sancho and believe Sessegnon has similar potential to the senior England international.

Even though the youngster is favourite to sign for Tottenham, there is a chance still that the youngster may opt to stay at Fulham for one more year.

That would give him another season of guaranteed first-team football and experience, albeit in the Championship, as well as time to assess the options available.

And while that may be good news for Fulham fans, the club will be worried that their star is out of contract next summer meaning they would only get £500,000 in training compensation should he leave rather than the £50m they may have got a year ago.
