Juventus' Second-Half Display Satisfies Spalletti After 4-0 Pisa Thrashing

Juventus ended a winless run with a 4-0 victory over Pisa, sparked by a revitalised second half. Cambiaso, Thuram, Yildiz, and Boga contributed as Spalletti praised the players' improved performance and urged continued focus on daily work.

Juventus eased some recent pressure with a 4-0 victory over Pisa, ending a run of four Serie A matches without a win. Luciano Spalletti highlighted the dominant second-half performance as the key factor, with the result arriving after a difficult spell that included setbacks in domestic and European competitions.

It has been a difficult period for Juventus, following a Coppa Italia quarter-final defeat to Atalanta and elimination from the Champions League after losing a two-legged tie to Galatasaray, but Spalletti remains positive about the players at his disposal. He said: "I'm pleased to see that the guys are ambitious, that they're using what has happened in this period well."

Juventus' second-half display pleases Spalletti

The opening 45 minutes brought few clear chances despite Juventus controlling the ball for long spells. Khephren Thuram was limited to attempts from range, while Jonathan David sent a headed chance over the bar. Spalletti admitted there were problems before the break, saying: "In the first half, something tactical just wasnt working for us."

Juventus broke the deadlock soon after half-time when Kenan Yildiz delivered a precise cross from the right. Andrea Cambiaso met it at the far post and scored, celebrating a 26th birthday goal. That strike moved Cambiaso to three league goals this season, his best return in a single top-flight campaign, on a night when Spalletti also marked a birthday.

The second Juventus goal arrived when Manuel Locatelli struck the post and Thuram reacted first to score from close range. Yildiz then produced a standout finish of his own to make it three, capping a strong all-round display. Yildiz is now one of only three players born in 2005 or later to have scored at least five goals (nine) and provided at least as many assists (five) in Europe's big five leagues this season, alongside Lamine Yamal and Yan Diomande.

Substitute Jeremie Boga completed the scoring in added time, finishing another flowing move to seal Juventus' first Serie A win since February 1. Reflecting on the improvement after the break, Spalletti said: "We played more our own way in the second half, and we got the win that we deserved. Theres no need to think too much about the future, but instead focus on our day-to-day work."

The 4-0 scoreline against Pisa offered Juventus a lift after a run of poor results and cup exits. The performance, especially after half-time, backed up Spalletti's belief in the squad's attitude. Juventus will now try to build on this display in the league, with focus firmly on consistent daily work.
